Seamless Integration of Ikegami's HDTV Camera Know How and Cutting - Edge Next - Generation ASICs

2/3-inch one-megapixel FIT (720p) CCD image sensors are employed to implement direct CCD read-out, without any converter, in 720p progressive mode, one of the HDTV formats. This unlocks the maximum potential quality of the 720p format with no motion blur. Ikegami will leave another legendary mark on the television camera history.

  • Bell Express Vu (Toront, Canada)

  • Atlantic Video (New York, NY)
  • Features

    • A newly developed 2/3-inch one-megapixel (720p) CCD image sensors are employed. Because high-quality 720p video is directly output from the CCDs, crisply detailed pictures that are characteristic of progressive output can be delivered.

    • Cutting-edge next generation ASICs (0.18 m) ensure lower power consumption and procesing.

    • After the video signal is 12-bit analog-to-digital (A/D) converted within the camera head, up to 30-bits of internal processing (computing) is further performed by next-generation ASICs for nonlinear processing, such as gamma correction. Thus, high image quality and high reliability with rock-solid stability are achieved at all times.

    • The Ikegami HDK-series HDTV cameras have incorporated next-generation 0.18µm ASICs into a new Camera Control Unit, CCU-790A. Also using newly developed ASICs, An Optional Engine Board has been developed to achieved Frame(24p, 30p, 50p) and Multi-format Conversion.(720p, 1080i, 480i and etc)
      »» more about CCU-790A

    • Signal transmission and power feed between the camera head and CCU is communicated via fiber optic composite cables (9.2 in diameter) over a distance of up to 3000 meters ( or 2000 meters for the studio type).

    • NTSC lenses can be mounted. For its lens mount, the camera supports the 2/3-inch BTA-1005B or Ikegami mount. Not only HD lenses, but a vast assortment of NTSC lenses may also be used.

    • The camera features a high-frequency correction circuit that operates in tandem with RET. This eliminates the difference in resolution between the main and RET videos, thus substantially improving ease of focusing for the cameraman.

    • The CB-79HD/TA-79HD HDTV new triax adaptor system can transmit high-quality pictures with QTV signal from thecamera head without signal degradation, at the maximum transmission distance of 1,550m, and to make use of existingtriax cables. The CB-79HD CCU converter box with 1U rack size enable both triax and fiber operation. Moreover the TA-79HDdocking triax adaptor can be exchange easily with FA-79 docking fiber adaptor.
