Digital processing
New Digital Processing ICs (ASIC) with 12 bit A/D
conversion is employed (internally up to 30bit
conversion). All the process after pre-knee is digitized,
providing stable and hi-quality pictures. Processes such
as Gamma and DTL signals are performed digitally with
up to 30-bit internal quantization, achieving superb
picture quality with good S/N in actual operation.
AIT Lower Smear-CCD (HC-D57W)
The HC-D57 employs high-performance 2/3" IT CCD with 410,000 pixels(NTSC) / 470,000 pixels(PAL). The
HC-D57W employs 2/3" AIT CCDs with 520,000 pixels(NTSC) / 600,000 pixels(PAL). The AIT CCD sensor
has less smear characteristics. It guarantees closer performance to FIT chip.
F11 Sensitivity
The sensitivity of F11 at 2000lux is realized. A greater depth-of-field facilitates simple focusing. Also vivid
images can be acquired even when the camera is used under low light condition.
DTL function
Various DTL functions are incorporated such as Diagonal DTL, Soft DTL and Skin DTL.
Back-Light Compensation
The back light compensation function is incorporated in Auto-Iris mode. It guarantees proper operation of
the iris even in case of high contrast situation.
Black Stretch
The Black Stretch function improves the luminance reproduction shadow areas of the scene by raising the
video level only for low-brightness portion. The stretch level is variable in 3%, 5% and 7%
Digital-Specific Versatile Videography
+36dB Gain up
36dB of gain allows for minimum illumination of 0.5 lux at F1.4. Because enhanced sensitivity is achived
electronically, loss of the resolution is minimized.
Supports Various Video Output Signals
The HC-D57/D57W can output composite video, Y/C, component, and RGB signals.
Memory Card (HC-D57W)
The HC-D57W incorporates memory card slot so that
camera operating status can be stored into Smart
Media memory card. Thus, camera setup, color
matching and identical DTL setting for several cameras
have been greatly simplified.
Shutter function
In addition to six preset shutters (1/100, 1/120, 1/250,
1/500, 1/1000, 1/2000), The camera incorporates
variable shutter function that can be set from 1/60.3 to
1/201 sec (NTSC) or 1/50.3 to1/200 sec (PAL) variably.
Menu Switch
Shutter speed and Super-V can be set with a menu switch
located on the switch panel. Various camera settings can be
made on screen in a menu-driven manner, thereby
substantially improving ease of operation.
VF character button
By pressing VF character button on the right side of HC-D57
/ HC-D57W, various camera conditions are displayed by
character display in viewfinder instantly. The VF character
button and Menu rotary encoder facilities navigation of the
camera menu for setting various camera.
Initialize SW
Selection of INITIALIZE in MENU mode sets the camera to the at the factory setting (condition when delivered)
Shoulder Pad
A Non-slip material is used for the shoulder pad. Pad position can readily be adjusted to the front and rear
as left and right side.
High-Resolution Viewfinder
The HC-D57/ HC-D57W comes standard with a 1.5-inch high-resolution viewfinder that delivers a horizontal
resolution of 600TV lines. This ensures clarity and consistently high image quality.
Various accessories
Various accessories for HC-series cameras can be used.
Triax Operation
Triax operation can be achieved by connecting the existing TA/BS/OCP-40. Remote control and high-res video transmission can be implemented. And also, a newly developed triax system (TA/BS/OCP-45)
is now available. Moreover, because a 5-inch or 6-inch VF can be mounted, the HC-D57/D57W can be configured as a studio camera.
Combination with various dockable VTR
The HC-D57 / HC-D57W can be directly docked with various VTRs such as DVCAM, Betacam SP and DVC Pro etc.
