IKEGAMI HD SWITCHER SUPPORTS HDTV COVERAGE OF US OPEN

NEW YORK: Great tennis aside, the 2002 US Open was also great television, as All Mobile Video (AMV) and Japan-based broadcaster WOWOW teamed up to provide Japanese viewers with a stunning HD/SD simulcast of the USTA's premier event, relying in part on equipment from Ikegami.

Working with a four-camera feed provided by CBS, AMV and WOWOW used the powerful and portable Ikegami TDP-370 HD switcher for effortless 16:9 HD and SD output. "The Ikegami TDP-370 is extremely well-suited for this application," says Lee Blanco, Director of Mobile Operations for AMV. "It's small and concise, and puts outs a great HD image. The Ikegami switcher also has the kind of firepower that's required for an event on the scale of the US Open, with impressive wipe and dissolve packages."

The compact Ikegami TDP-370 digital switcher provides complete field production flexibility in an efficient 4U size. Its multiple format design allows for a choice of input and output modules between 1080i, 720p, and 24p HDTV SDI and SDTV SDI. With up to 16 inputs and six output buses, two built-in keyers, and available DVE, the Ikegami TDP-370 brings advanced functions to HD and SD production for small studios, trucks, and the field.
