IKEGAMI LEADS THE WAY IN DIGITAL TELEVISION
PRODUCTION WITH NEW TECHNOLOGY AT NAB 2003

NAB 2003: Ikegami continues to build on its considerable history of leadership in digital television, introducing new technology for HD and SD production at NAB 2003. In addition to its full line of superior cameras, monitors, switchers and converters, Ikegami will show a number of new products, including the HDK-79EX compact HD camera, SE-79EX system expander, CCU-790A camera control unit, HD series monitors, and DVU converters.

The new HDK-79EX is a compact HD camera that extends Ikegami's reputation as a pioneer in camera development. Weighing just under 12 lbs, the HDK-79EX represents a significant size and weight reduction for portable HD cameras. Its integral fiber adapter gives it easy compatibility with any of Ikegami's fiber base stations. The portable HDK-79EX camera will receive improved studio support via the new SE-79EX system expander. The low profile SE-79EX uses only integral connectors, with no cables between any of the pieces, resulting in a sturdier design.

Ikegami's latest CCU is the CCU-790A, which works will all HDK-model 1080i and 720p native cameras. Using Ikegami's new video processing ASIC, it introduces new detail enhancement features, including Wide-band and Color DTL. The CCU-790A offers an optional multi-format converter that allows for maximum flexibility between HD formats, including 1080i, 720p and 24p.

Also on display will be the production version of the Ikegami HDL-20, a high-performance POV camera featuring two 2/3" 2,200,000-pixel IT CCDs. The HDL-20 achieves superb picture quality with a horizontal resolution of 1,000 TV lines, making it ideal for sports, helicopter-gyroscope coverage, and numerous other POV applications.

Ikegami's superior imagery extends to SDTV with the recently introduced switchable 16:9/4:3 HL-60W 3-chip AIT CCD digital camera, featuring 520,000 pixel CCDs and using Ikegami's latest ASIC with 0.18 micron design. The HL-60W's immediate success is expected to increase further with the introduction of the compact TA-60 component triax adapter, as well as the SE-60 system expander featuring a low profile and cableless interconnectivity.

The DVCAM camcorder line is extended with the HL-DV7AW, which adds exciting new features to the popular HL-DV7W. Now with external video input, shooters with a pool feed or source other than the integrated camera can record video using the tape section. The Ikegami AIT CCD is also added for improved smear characteristic and higher performance.

Ikegami's famed monitors are the standard throughout the production, post-production and video industries. Affordable HD monitoring has now arrived with Ikegami's HTM-1905, 1505 and 1005 monitors , featuring optional lower cost, plug-in SDI boards. New CRTs also bring improved resolution to the picture.

The groundbreaking DNG line of hard disk-based Editcam II cameras, the DNS-21W/DNS-201W will be joined by a new stand-alone recorder, the DNE-31. Recording to a convenient digital non-linear environment, Editcam II brings revolutionary features such as retroloop, timelapse recording and random access editing to field production.

The new Ikegami line of DVU converters will also debut at NAB 2003. Instead of stand-alone rackmount units, the DVU line allows multiple converter units within the 4RU or 2RU rack frames for more convenient integration into the production environment.

Ikegami's powerful line of HD and SD digital switchers, includes the TD/TDP-360 portable and studio switcher with 1.5M/E, the TD/TDP-370 portable and studio switcher with 2M/E, and the HSS-2000 studio switcher with 4M/E. All these models are available for SD SDI and HD SDI, including multiple formats in HD. (HSS-2000 will not be exhibit at NAB2003)
