FOX WJW, Cleveland, Goes Native 720p
With Ikegami HDTV Cameras

Maywood, NJ (August 3, 2001)- FOX O&O, WJW Channel 8, Cleveland recently
purchased 3 Ikegami HDK-720P cameras with Native 720p HDTV progressive-
scan format. WJW purchased the Ikegami cameras for expanded newsroom
operations. The cameras were equipped with Angenieux HD lenses and
configured for robotic operations with Radamec remote controlled systems.

The HDK-720/720P Cameras feature three 2/3 inch mega-pixel FIT (720p) image
sensors to implement direct CCD readout, without any converter, in native 720p.
Incorporating next-generation ASICs and 12 bit A/D conversion, these High
Definition Studio/Field CCD Camera Systems achieve exceptional quality,
reliability and rock-solid stability.

In addition to 720p, the camera simultaneously supports the 480i format through
the CCU that incorporates a full broadcast quality down converter. (480p output
is also available as an option). Signal transmission and power feed between the
camera head and CCU is communicated via SMPTE standard hybrid fiber-
copper camera cable over a distance of up to 2000 meters. Optional triax
adaptors support full HDTV bandwidth transmission over a distance of up to
1000 meters.

Ikegami has been manufacturing HDTV camera systems for more than 10 years
and has delivered more than 100 all-digital multiformat HDTV cameras over the
past two years. Production units of the HDK-720/720P, HDTV cameras were
shown at NAB 2001, Las Vegas.
