IKEGAMI EXPANDS RENTAL PRODUCT LINE OF CIT GROUP’S TRS DIVISION Add Six HDK-79D Cameras, TDP-360 HD Video Switcher DALLAS, TX, February 13, 2001: With a growing demand among its client base for top-performing broadcast equipment, Technology Rentals and Services (TRS), a division of The CIT Group (NYSE:CIT; TSE:CIT.U) has added an array of Ikegami equipment to its product roster. With six new Ikegami HDK-79D cameras and a TDP-360 HD video switcher, TRS now has the tools for broadcast-quality production available, in HD or SD. As one of the largest equipment rental and leasing companies in North America, TRS has strict standards for any gear they choose to make available to their clients. "Typically, our products are the leader in the industry," notes Bob Tate, Senior VP of Product Management for CIT Technology Rentals and Services. "They have to be very well-established in their field, and Ikegami in our view is a market leader. Whether the need is for an event, interim or other short-term solution, the Ikegami cameras and switcher are equipment that we can offer with total confidence." The addition of the Ikegami gear at TRS means that HD performance is now available internationally, on an overnight basis if needed. Their new HDK-79Ds use newly-developed 2/3-inch 2,200,000-pixel(1080i) FIT CCDs, with CCD readout, capable of being switched between interlace and progressive scans. State-of-the-art ASICs are used to achieve full-digital implementation of video processing, assuring crisp, stable video at all times, while minimizing power consumption. The HDK-79D is a full digital HDTV camera system designed for 1080i/480i/480p, and 720p outputs, as well as switchability to the NTSC format. The TDP-360 video switcher is 16-input, and will serve TRS clients both in ENG/EFP and studio environments. "The Ikegami cameras offer many benefits to our users, including their switchability, great ease-of-use, and overall engineering enhancements," adds Barry Weisberg, Product Manger for Broadcast Media at TRS. "We expect them to meet a wide-range of full-spectrum needs, from the independent producer all the way up to the upper-tier studio configuration." Certified as an ISO 9002 environment and serving a customer base that spans the Fortune 1000, TRS’ decision to go with Ikegami is a natural extension of their commitment to reliability. "In our event-based business we don’t get to do things over," Bob Tate concludes. "We have to have processes that absolutely work. Ikegami is absolutely one of the best in quality, and that’s why their products fit in here." Ikegami Electronics is one of the world's leading manufacturers of high-quality professional broadcast television cameras, monitors, and accessories. The company's High Definition TV Cameras (HDTV) have become the broadcast industry leaders as the change over to the High Definition Television format moves ahead.
